Summer Orientation
The Berkshire Center's summer orientation provides a unique opportunity for new and returning students to experience summer in the Berkshires.
New students benefit from entering the program in the summer for several reasons:
Students can have a comprehensive assessment at Berkshire Community College so that arrangements can be made for any special accommodations they may require to be successful academically.
The new student is also able to establish bank accounts, get to know the community, and settle into their apartment in a more reasonable time frame, rather than trying to accomplish all these things in the one week prior to classes beginning in the fall.
Current students can use the summer program to take additional courses at a local college, business, dance or music school.
The summer is also a wonderful opportunity for all students to experience all the cultural events that make the Berkshires a favorite tourist destination.
These include: Tanglewood (summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Arrowhead (home of Herman Melville), Mt. Greylock and the Williamstown and Berkshire Theater Festivals.
The Berkshire Center also has a summer program for teens 16-19. Students reside on campus at Elms College for 2 weeks of social, life, academic and career skills as well as plenty of fun!
