Recreational Support Services
Recreation

Recreational activities are planned and scheduled weekly by students and staff together. The Berkshire Hills region is a renowned cultural center and activities are scheduled to utilize the attractions of this area.
The natural beauty of the rugged Berkshire Hills is a wonderful resource. Hikes are scheduled to Mt. Greylock, Monument Mountain and Ice Glen, in the nearby town of Stockbridge.
Other outdoor activities available in this area include mountain and road biking, canoeing and swimming.
In the winter, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snow boarding are always convenient to CIP students. Other activities include concerts, street festivals, area malls, movie theaters and sporting events.
Additionally, Tanglewood (the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, The Clark Art Institute, The Norman Rockwell Museum, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, the Williamstown and Berkshire Theater Festivals, and Shakespeare and Company all are within a short drive of Lee.

Whale watch, summer '07
Several times throughout the year, the College Internship Program also arranges for fun cultural and educational activities not so close to home.
As one of our students, you will have many opportunities to see Broadway shows in New York City, go shopping and enjoy diverse dining experiences in Hartford, CT, visit the New England Aquarium, Museum of Science, music and dance shows, whale-watching, and shopping in Boston - just to name a few.
Physical Fitness and Healthy Lifestyle
To support physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, you will be enrolled as a member of Berkshire South Health and Fitness Center where you are encouraged to participate twice per week. Also, on campus, we have a Recreational and Fitness Room that includes a pool table, ping-pong, air hockey, and exercise equipment.
In the winter, an optional skiing and snowboarding program is offered at Jiminy Peak Ski Resort. Discounted rentals, lift tickets and lessons are available and CIP provides round-trip transportation. Additionally, ski trips to larger areas in Vermont are scheduled throughout the ski season.

Optional Student Foreign Trip

Belize 2007
For the last 15 years, the College Internship Program has researched and arranged for a fun, educational and culturally diverse foreign trip during the annual student break in March. If you choose to participate, prior to leaving, you will study and become familiar with the vacation itinerary, as well as the history, language and culture of the country you will explore. While these trips are learning experiences, there is ample time for fun and socialization.
